AUDRY DEAL: ENDANGERED - art case at the c/d lounge

 
     
 

Audry Deal is a ceramic and mixed-media artist whose work focuses on plant forms and problems facing our botanical ecosystems. She is a native of Franklin, Tenn., and has exhibited throughout the United States and in Germany. Her education includes a bachelor of Fine Arts in Ceramic Studio Arts from Ohio University in addition to studies at Die Burg Giebichenstein Hochschule für Kunst und Design (School of Art and Design) in Halle, Germany, and travels in Europe and Japan. She is currently teaching at Vanderbilt’s Sarratt Art Studios, The Renaissance Center, and Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film.

 
     
 

Artist Statement

“My work focuses on endangered botanical forms. While I have a strong formal interest in plant structures, conceptually my work looks at problems facing our botanical ecosystems, and attempts to raise public awareness through education and increased exposure.”

Arts at the Airport receives funding for the visual arts from the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and the Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC).
