Nashville artist Dar Maleki was born in Isfahan, Iran, to an American mother and a Persian father. Inspired by travel experiences and memories, Maleki describes the development of his mixed media works as a place where he sees limitless possibilities. Maleki refers to his pieces as “hieroglyphs of my life,” and uses drawing, painting and graphic design to create a symbolic language of visual expression.

Artist Statement
"The act of creating the work itself becomes a peaceful place in my mind and heart. When I am working, nothing else matters. The more I stay in this creative place, the more the art fills me with a sense of accomplishment. It is the vehicle for translating my inner vision into outer beauty and that to me is pure enjoyment.”
