Lisa Ernst began studying art and painting full time in the
mid-1990s. Her work has been exhibited in many group and
solo exhibitions in both galleries and museums, and she has
been featured in American Artist Magazine, among others.
Her paintings hang in corporate, public and private collections
internationally, and she frequently accepts large-scale commissions.
The renowned M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston has
acquired six of Lisa’s large botanical paintings. In addition,
she recently completed a large commission for Northwestern
University Medical Center’s public collection. Lisa is represented
by dealers in the United States and London.
A colorist and contemporary realist, Lisa uses the vibrancy of
acrylic paints to amplify nature’s colors and forms. In the mid-
1990s she studied intensively with the noted artist Walter Bunn
Gray (1934-2002) who had a successful fine arts career in New
York City prior to his retirement in Franklin, Tenn.

Artist's Statement
“I call this installation ‘Reveal’ because both softness and
strength are revealed through the curves and lines of the calla
lily flowers. There is strength inherent in softness and softness
inherent in strength. The intense colors and play of light are
designed to draw the eye into the heart of the flowers. The
softer green canvases were incorporated to create a restful
balance to the intensity of the four calla lily paintings. As a
whole, my intent was to create a harmony of passion and
equanimity, male and female, surface and depth.”
