Starting May 7, 2025, a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID will be necessary to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities.
Because the REAL ID Act is a federal law that applies to federal agencies like the TSA, state-issued IDs that do not meet REAL ID requirements will no longer be accepted at TSA security checkpoints.
