DPS CALEA Certification
A CALEA-law enforcement accredited agency is required to meet 482 standards that include best business practices and public safety levels. The Department of Public Safety and Airport Operations Center are certified by CALEA, making BNA one of very few U.S. airports with public safety and operations units having this certification. BNA’s Department of Public Safety was the very first airport safety department in North America to become CALEA-certified, and BNA is still one of only eleven airports in North America to have a CALEA-certified public safety department.
