In-line EDS Project Includes Energy-saving Element

The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) Board of Commissioners recently approved a contract for a new in-line explosive detection system (EDS) at Nashville International Airport (BNA) and work is well underway.

EDS machines work like the MRI machines in your doctor’s office. The machines can quickly determine whether or not a bag contains a potential threat. If a weapon or explosive is detected, the machines alert security officers so they can manage the bag appropriately. Read more.


Rental Car Facility
Facility lease and concession agreements for the proposed rental car facility were approved during the January board meeting. The total budget is approximately $70 million, $60 million of which is construction costs. Funding will come from customer facility charges, which are rental car user fees. Read more.

 

Nashville International Opens Former Overflow Lot as Long Term B
Nashville International Airport opened the former seasonal Overflow lot, east of Donelson Pike, permanently as Long Term B. This recently refurbished lot includes new signage and markings and offers the same services as the Long Term A lot, including emergency/information phones, dedicated shuttles, Express Parc, and Frequent Parker access. The daily rate for parking in this lot is $10. Patrons parking in this lot should use I-40 Donelson Pike exit 216. Read more.


Employment Center Kiosk Opened at Nashville International Airport
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) officially opened an employment center kiosk at Nashville International Airport in November. Read more.

 

Nashville Airport Authority Promotes Aaron Evans to Assistant Director of Operations
The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority recently promoted Aaron Evans, formerly manager of Operations, to the position of assistant director of Operations, part of the Senior Management Staff of the MNAA.
