Chery Robinson Cratty worked for Samsonite and Aladdin Industries before she moved to Georgia where she established a flourishing bonsai nursery. While there, she spent 10 years creating a paint made of plant fibers and pigments. Now back in Tennessee, the techniques she de
veloped allow her to use this pulp paint to produce highly textured, light-filled portraits of Tennessee’s majestic landscapes. Her work is in the Tennessee State Museum, private collections and galleries in Tennessee and North Carolina.

Artist Statement

Traveling through Tennessee on a hot summer day?

Slow down for a moment –

Pause, as I did, in the shade of these majestic trees.

From the corner of your eye, glimpse the gentle rustle
of leaves.

Catch the flicker of light on the trunks.

Immerse yourself in the serenity of nature.

Allow these trees to refresh you on your journey.
