The Tennessee Association of Craft Artists (TACA) is a nonprofit, artist-driven organization with the mission to encourage, develop and promote crafts and craftspeople of Tennessee. TACA has actively worked to preserve the tradition of Tennessee craft art since 1965.
In addition to producing juried craft shows in Nashville’s Centennial Park twice a year, TACA preserves the cultural heritage of traditional and contemporary craft. The organization supports the livelihood of craft artists through education, scholarships, professional development workshops, the Master Artist Apprentice Program (one-on-one mentoring with stipend, supported by the Tennessee Arts Commission), biennial Best of Tennessee Craft museum exhibits and outreach efforts.
TACA has been an integral part of Tennessee’s history for the last four decades. Through its efforts, TACA creates a network of craftspeople able to transmit their skills to future generations. By passing on this knowledge, TACA helps to ensure that crafts continue to be practiced within our communities, providing livelihoods to their makers, reflecting traditions of the past and inspiring creativity in the future.
