Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour

OTBP exhibit
Sept. 5, 2016 - Nov. 27, 2016

Art Case, A/B Waiting Lounge

Each fall, on the last full weekend in October, the artists of Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour in DeKalb and Cannon counties of Middle Tennessee open their studios for a free three-day open studio event. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the tour has grown to include 14 stops with 25 participating artists. Visitors can download a map detailing directions to each stop as they follow the bright yellow signs making their way through the countryside to explore the creative activities at each studio. Artists demonstrate their crafts and offer handcrafted shopping opportunities at every stop on the tour.

History of the Tour
The Off the Beaten Path Studio Tour had its beginnings 15 years ago when Louis and Christine Columbarini hatched a plan to bring together artists in the two counties of DeKalb and Cannon and invite the public to their studio for demonstrations, sales and a get-to-know-you experience. From that first small handful of innovative artists, the tour has expanded from a two day event to include all three days of a long fall weekend.

The studio tour attracts not only local and regional visitors, but every year more visitors from other states plan their fall vacations around the dates of the studio tour. Whether it’s a romantic weekend get away or a family outing, the tour has something for everyone to enjoy.
