The School of Art, Craft & Design at Tennessee Tech University (TTU) offers a Bachelor of Fine Art in eight areas of concentration, including glass, metal, clay, fiber, wood, digital design, painting and art education. The mission of the School of Art, Craft & Design is to prepare Bachelor of Fine Arts majors for careers in visual art studios, design practice and art education.
The School operates on both the main campus of TTU in Cookeville, and at its renowned satellite campus in Smithville, at the Appalachian Center for Craft, which is a unique educational facility and cultural center combining teaching, research, cultural outreach and crafts marketing operating all in partnership.
The Craft Center opened in 1979, but shortly after became a division of Tennessee Tech University. The name, School of Art, Craft & Design, reflects the interdisciplinary direction and diverse options of all these elements working together.

Arts at the Airport receives funding for the visual arts from the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and the Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC). The Flying Solo Exhibition Series is funded under an agreement with TAC. For more information about Arts at the Airport, please call (615) 275-1614 or send email to
